Managing LDAP Entries

This topic describes the procedure to view, modify, delete, and rename LDAP entries.

Before you begin this task: You must be in the Content Management page of Management Console to perform this task.


  • To view an existing LDAP entry, click the required entry in the LDAP tree. The attributes of the selected LDAP entry along with the corresponding values are displayed in the right pane.
  • To modify the attributes of a LDAP entry do as follows:
  1. Click the LDAP entry whose attributes have to be modified. The attributes of the selected LDAP entry along with the corresponding values are displayed in the right pane.
  2. In the Attribute list, double-click the attribute that you want to modify. Alternatively right-click the attribute and select Edit.
    Note: It is not possible to modify the cn and objectClass (non-leaf) attributes.
  3. Make the necessary changes in the Attribute Properties page, and click Save.
  • To delete a LDAP entry, do one of the following, and click Yes in the Delete confirmation box:
    • Right-click the required entry in the LDAP tree, and select Delete.
    • Select the LDAP entry and click on the toolbar.
    • Select the LDAP entry and click Edit and select Delete Entry.
      Note: It is not possible to rename the cn and objectClass (non-leaf) attributes.
  • To rename a LDAP entry do as follows:
  1. Select the LDAP entry which you want to rename, and click Edit and select Rename. Alternatively right-click the LDAP entry and select Rename.
  2. Type the New Name for the LDAP entry in the Rename page and click OK.
    Note: It is not possible to rename the cn and objectClass (non-leaf) attributes.
